PWA Slalom World Cup

In 2024, the slalom discipline was split into two categories.

New discipline: Slalom X

Slalom X is a new racing discipline. It consists of a race course marked out with buoys, on which additional difficulties are built in, such as jumps over obstacles or chicanes at certain points. If you were looking for an analogy from another sport, there is a similarity to motocross. Slalom X is only held on classic boards with fins when the wind is strong enough.

Slalom (Foil)

Slalom is the Formula 1 of windsurfing. In this racing discipline, a course marked out with buoys is sailed through at top speed. Exciting fights for position and spectacular overtaking manoeuvres characterise this discipline. Instead of a fin, a foil is used for slalom, which allows competitions even in very light winds. A foil lifts the board out of the water and thus reduces drag.
